10.30am 2 Boot: It’s All About The Views! (Brunel Plus)

Event Date: Sun 11 June 2017
Event Time: 10.30am

11 miles

Another great Cotswold day out with far reaching views for much of the walk. In order to reach those views we will start with a climb out of the village of Winchcombe and make our way over to Cleeve Common where we will call into the Golf Club for an ice cream before making our return via the Cotswold Way through old beech woods to Postlip and finally back to Winchcombe for refreshments at the lovely Lion Inn. There will be a few up and downs but nothing too strenuous once we have the initial climb out of the way. This will be taken at an easy pace so don’t be put off! As it is all about the views and can be exposed on the common, please contact me prior to setting off if the weather forecast is very poor as I may decide to postpone. Parking is on street and the walk leader will meet at the start of the walk.

Meet 10.30am at Vineyard Street, Winchcombe GL54 5LP.

For lift shares meet Trudi Cox, 9.15am at the Water Tower, Clifton.

Bring packed lunch, pub to finish.

Walk leader: Sue C ( (Phone number removed) )

How do I join the walk?

Unless stated on the walk page, there is no need to sign up to join a walk. You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.

On many walks you can just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk. It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts. Some walks you will need to make your way to walk start or you can post on our facebook group to ask if you can share a lift there.

If sharing lifts passengers are expected to contribute towards petrol costs. Please bring coins or be prepared to make a bank transfer. As a guide, 30p/mile shared by everyone in the car.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
