14 mile (1550ft of ascent) walk starting in Thurlbear we then head along the valley skirting the edges of Orchard and Young Wood where hopefully the trees will still be displaying their autumn colours. We then head cross country to Staple Park Wood and Staple Hill Plantations onto Castle Neroche to look at the Motte and Bailey and then return to the start on a mixture of woodland paths, farm tracks, and quiet roads.
Please make sure you wear suitable footwear as paths could be wet and muddy, bring plenty of food and drinks for the walk. Wear layers and bring a waterproof coat and trousers and pack a spare layer to wear when we stop for lunch.
As daylight is limited this time of year, please bring a head torch just in case and expect a brisker pace of around 3 mph.
I will meet you at the start of the walk in Thurlbear.
Bring packed lunch. Pub to finish.
