Event Date: Sat 15 October 2016
12 miles / 19 km
Starting from the car park at Bradford on Avon Train Station (£5.60 fee for all day parking here) this walk combines a lovely section of the Avon canal with amazing views of the Bath Skyline near the end.
The first half of the walk is all flat with a few hills involved after the half way point. Highlights will include Bradfords own 14th century Tithe Barn, 2 Aqueducts, variety of different sized barges moored along the bank and of course spectacular views of Bath City Centre where the walk will finish. Once here, there will be plenty of options for a pub stop before boarding a train back to Bradford-on-Avon (ticket cost £4.30 each)
Please note I will not be at the Car Share meetup location and will meet you at the walk start point at Bradford on Avon Station Carpark. Will be there around 10:50am
You may also wish to catch a return train from Bristol Temple Meads departing at 10:22am (£10.10 per person) to Bradford in Avon. Then after the end of the walk, catch a train from Bath to Bristol.

How do I join the walk?
Unless stated on the walk page, there is no need to sign up to join a walk. You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.
On many walks you can just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk. It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts. Some walks you will need to make your way to walk start or you can post on our facebook group to ask if you can share a lift there.
If sharing lifts passengers are expected to contribute towards petrol costs. Please bring coins or be prepared to make a bank transfer. As a guide, 30p/mile shared by everyone in the car.
How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?
We provide a full recommended kit list here. Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot. Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
