The organisers will meet you at the alternative meet point in Teignmouth. We will leave there promptly at 9:40 to walk west along the sea front. We will catch the first ferry to Shaldon at 10 am (cost £1.60) and then visit the Ness Hotel for a quality coffee and cake before walking along the fairly hilly coast path to Torquay. There we will visit Pizza Express before walking to the station and catching the train back to Teignmouth.

Please bring a torch.

If you wish to catch the train down to Teignmouth there is one that arrives at 9:09. We will meet you at the pier shortly after 9:40.

Bring a packed lunch. Pub to finish.

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
