18.00 1 Boot: Bumps That Go Thing in the Night IV (Joint Walk)

Event Date: Sat 2 February 2019
Event Time: 18:00

Back by request: The 4th Annual Brunel Priddy Night Walk A short night walk on the Mendip Hills from Priddy. No big ascents but some rather muddy sections (don’t forget to bring a change of shoes) - if the ground is frozen (like last year) then it will be less muddy! Torch and warm clothing essential. Bring snacks / drink. We’ll go to the village pub afterwards if time permits. There is a New Moon on 4th February, so if the sky is clear we should be able to see lots of stars with little interference from moonlight. Your walk leader will meet you in Priddy. Please can someone call when the group is departing (and please leave promptly at 18:05).

Pub to finish.

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with over 400 members and is part of The Ramblers charity. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
