10:47 2 Boot Bradford-on-Avon to Bath linear (Joint Walk)

Event Date: Sun 10 December 2023
Event Time: 10:47

This walk is in the past.

I'll be taking the 10:20 train from Bristol temple meads to Bradford-on-avon which arrives at 10:47 and meet everyone in the car park outside the train station there. If you're taking the train get a return ticket to Bradford-on-avon and you can take the train back to Bristol from Bath on that same ticket.

We will then walk to Bath via the canals and bath skyline. We will stop at a cafe (The Angelfish) midway for lunch at about 1pm. Probably get into Bath about 4pm and could pop into a pub at the end as reward.

Then you can get the train back to Bristol or if you've driven to Bradford-on-avon then get the train back to your car.

No need to bring packed lunch as we're stopping at the cafe for lunch although bring snacks to keep you going. We go through some fields so it may be a bit muddy. It's about 11 miles, there's a little bit of uphill, but otherwise relatively flat.

Map of the route is here https://out.ac/IHfK7v

Pub to finish.

How do I join the walk?

Unless stated on the walk page, there is no need to sign up to join a walk. You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.

On many walks you can just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk. It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts. Some walks you will need to make your way to walk start or you can post on our facebook group to ask if you can share a lift there.

If sharing lifts passengers are expected to contribute towards petrol costs. Please bring coins or be prepared to make a bank transfer. As a guide, 30p/mile shared by everyone in the car.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
