This walk is in the past.
This is an 8.5 ish miler starting at Pensford Post Office at 10:35 am on Sunday 29th September. Bring a packed lunch.
if you are travelling by bus, the 376 leaves Templemeads at 09:49 and Arrives in Pensford at 10:29. There is then a 20 metre walk to the post office.
If you are travelling by car, you may want to Park in Pensford Village Hall Car Park, You will need to make a donation for parking via QR code on the door of the village hall. Suggested donation is £2-£3.
The walk will be fairly easy for the first bit towards Stanton Drew where we will stop for a coffee break by the stones. The routes from Stanton to Chew Valley lake will involve some hilly and or uneven terrain, possible muddy patches depending on the weather, and I would advise long trousers due to some brambly areas. Also sticks might be useful. Views towards the lake are lovely and its a really nice walk. We will stop for lunch at the picnic area in Chew Valley. After this we will head back to Stanton Drew via a different route near Chew Magna then onto Stanton Drew to repeat the route at the start of the walk from a different angle.
There may be some fields with cows, therefore you may want to bring a walking stick if this bothers you and remember to walk calmly and quietly at these times.
Bring packed lunch. Pub to finish.
