10:00 2 Boot A walk through the Quantock Hills (Joint Walk)( this walk is now full)
Event Date: Sun 12 September 2021
Event Time: 10:00
This walk is in the past.
From the start point we will walk for a bit arriving at dead woman's ditch, from there we will climb up to Wilmot's pool. We will then descend down a old river bed along Holford Combe before the long climb up to the ancient hill fort, with weather dependent views of the Bristol channel. We then head back down through the woodland to the start point.
Due to the amount of hills (two 350m accents) we have classified this as a 2 boot. Depending on the weather the old river bed may be a bit wet so make sure you have a good set of boots and pack accordingly.
This walk requires booking
Text the walk leader to request a space on the walk with your name. After 6pm the night before your walk, the leader will message you the full start point details.

If sharing lifts passengers are expected to contribute towards petrol costs. Please bring coins or be prepared to make a bank transfer.
As a guide, 30p/mile shared by everyone in the car.
Unless stated on the walk page, there is no need to sign up to join a walk. You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.
On many walks you can just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk. It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts. Some walks you will need to make your way to walk start or you can post on our facebook group to ask if you can share a lift there.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?
We provide a full recommended kit list here. Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
