This walk is in the past.
A walk in an area of the uplands of south Wales rarely visited by Brunel. We walk for a few km along the quiet tree-lined canal before heading up to the high ground above Blaenavon. Walking north we will reach Blorenge, our high point of the day. In good weather there’ll be views north to the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons and south to the industrialised valleys of south Wales.
The walk is mostly on well defined paths, but it’s rained a lot recently and in places the higher ground is likely to be wet and muddy. Appropriate footwear and clothing is required.
Bring packed lunch. Pub to finish.

Llanfoist Crossing Car Park, NP7 9PL, grid ref 286133, for a 10.15am start. If the car park is full, it should be possible to park on nearby streets off the main road.
