This walk is in the past.
Starting from Badminton village, we will head through the Badminton Estate (most famous for the annual Horse Trials held there, lesser known was that in 1986 it was scene of the opening stage of Britain's round of the World Rally Championship). After Badminton we will head north via Didmarton and then enter Westonbirt Arboretum from the north, following a footpath south through the arboretum (important to stay on the footpath and not wander off without paying admission); the arboretum should look good in the autumn sunshine. We will return via Sopworth and back through the Badminton Estate at sunset when hopefully the deer will be out. Its a fairly flat walk (only 190m of total ascent), it will almost certainly be muddy in some places after all the rain. Please bring walking footwear, warm clothes, sunglasses (likely low sun) and also a sit mat or something to sit on when we have lunch / tea breaks etc. I will meet you all in Badminton village by Drewett's Stores. If one of you going to the Clifton watertower meet point would be willing to coordinate car share, please let me know. Anyone coming from Bath, I can give you a lift if you contact me.
Bring packed lunch. Pub to finish.
