09:00 2+ boot: A Priddy little walk (Priddy, Wells + Ebbor Gorge) (Joint Walk)
Event Date: Mon 31 August 2026
Event Time: 09:00
Starting in Priddy, we'll go take a look at the Priddy Mineries and Stockhill Wood before heading south to Wells where we'll wander past the Bishop's Palace and the Cathedral.
Next we'll follow the Mendip Way to Wookey Hole and climb up through Ebbor Gorge, pausing to admire the view if the weather's okay.
Walking back to Priddy, we could stop for refreshments in the Queen Victoria pub before departing.
2+ boot due to length and needing to use hands to clamber up through a little of Ebbor Gorge.
Ascent/descent: ~420 metres
There will be styles, roads to cross and short road-walking sections, possibly quite muddy sections, steep bits and some slight scrambling.
If it's wet, make sure your footwear has decent grip for the gorge section.
There may be livestock in some fields.
Bring packed lunch.
Pub to finish.

If sharing lifts passengers are expected to contribute towards petrol costs. Please bring coins or be prepared to make a bank transfer.
As a guide, 30p/mile shared by everyone in the car.
Unless stated on the walk page, there is no need to sign up to join a walk. You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.
On many walks you can just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk. It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts. Some walks you will need to make your way to walk start or you can post on our facebook group to ask if you can share a lift there.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?
We provide a full recommended kit list here. Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others. Read more on our FAQs page
