A beautiful walk written by Sue Gearing and taken from her very popular “Evening Post Series” book.
This stunning walk is full of variety and
is mainly flat with a couple of uphill climbs.
We will walk through fields, along the River Chew, through woodland and will visit the ancient stone circle at Stanton Drew and pass the 19th century viaduct in Pensford which was a mining and agricultural village.
The start point is at the village hall in Pensford.
(the first left turn as you come into the village from Bristol)

376 Mendip Explorer bus goes from Bristol bus station at 10.40am on Sunday and also stops at Bristol Temple Meads approximately 10 minutes later” ( please check the First Bus App in case of changes )
** Please note they are hourly on Sundays. It arrives at 11.16am. It costs £7.50 for a West of England day rider which covers Bristol buses too
You can park on the road to the village hall or roads nearby but it a very small village so please allow extra time to find a space.
