6:00pm / Evening walk, 5miles / Stars substituted for Suspension (Joint)

Event Date: Wed 2 March 2016
Event Time: 6:00pm

~THE ALL THAT GLITTERS STARGAZING WALK TO ASHTON COURT HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL CLEARER WEATHER APPEARS, BUT THERE WILL STILL BE AN EVENING WALK HAPPENING BUT ALONG A DIFFERENT ROUTE!~

I have chosen to postpone the stargazing walk due to no clear evenings making an appearance for the next 2 weeks it seems, but keep your eyes peeled for it to be put on the programme last minute.

Instead, I will be leading a walk that still leaves the MShed at 18:00.

We will still walk alongside the harbour towards Leigh Woods, where we will have a glimpse of the Suspension Bridge all lit up, then climbing steadily up the muddy track to the top of the hill.

Once we have made it to the top of the hill, we will head towards The Suspension Bridge, walking across it for views across South Bristol and The Gorge.

After taking in the scenery, we will head down the zig zag path towards Hotwells Road and back along the harbour into town where we will find somewhere warm to enjoy a drink!

Please bring warm clothing, a torch and sensible footwear and clothing for the muddy climb through The Nightingale Valley in Leigh Woods.

Apologies for the change of plan but I still look forward to seeing you there for a viewtacular walk!

Pub to finish.

Meet: 6:00pm outside the MShed, Bristol.

Leader: Kirsty H (Phone number removed)

This walk is in the past.

Group: Joint

How do I join the walk?

Unless stated on the walk page, there is no need to sign up to join a walk. You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.

On many walks you can just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk. It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts. Some walks you will need to make your way to walk start or you can post on our facebook group to ask if you can share a lift there.

If sharing lifts passengers are expected to contribute towards petrol costs. Please bring coins or be prepared to make a bank transfer. As a guide, 30p/mile shared by everyone in the car.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
