2 Boot Bicknoller Post & Beacon Hill (20s & 30s Walk)

Event Date: Sun 2 June 2019
Event Time: 08:45

This walk is in the past.

We will first make our way cross country through fields and woodland to reach the edge of the Quantock Hills before walking up to Bicknoller Post through a series of combes or wooded valleys. Once here, we will make our way along to the trig point at Beacon Hill – if the weather is clear we will be greeted with panoramic views across the Quantock Hills and the Bristol Channel. We will then make our way down to the coast path which we will follow back to the car park.

Please note there a few stream crossings in this walk and therefore waterproof boots are recommended.

Car Park: £2.50. As you near the end of Sea Lane you will see a ticket machine. It is advisable to pull over here and get your ticket before driving a bit further on to the car park. There is no ticket machine in the car park itself so this will save you walking back up the lane to fetch your ticket once parked.

Bring packed lunch. Pub to finish.

Group: 20s & 30s
Walk Leader: Jenny N.

Walk Grade: 2 Boot
Walk Length: 10 miles

Date: Sun 02 Jun 2019

Alternative meeting point: 10:00 at Kilve Beach Car Park, Sea Lane, Kilve TA5 1EG – this postcode should drop you in Sea Lane. Continue to the very end of Sea Lane where you will find the car park.

How do I join the walk?

Unless stated on the walk page, there is no need to sign up to join a walk. You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.

On many walks you can just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk. It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts. Some walks you will need to make your way to walk start or you can post on our facebook group to ask if you can share a lift there.

If sharing lifts passengers are expected to contribute towards petrol costs. Please bring coins or be prepared to make a bank transfer. As a guide, 30p/mile shared by everyone in the car.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
