This walk is in the past.
We start from Burrington Combe, known for it's nearby caves, with a steep climb from the car park up to a hill fort. We then descend a bit before heading for the summit of Beacon Batch.
After wandering back down towards Black Rock and the road through Cheddar Gorge, we'll cross and walk along the south side of the gorge.
It's a steep set of steps down into the touristy bit of cheddar where there's an opportunity for a tea/cake/pub/toilet stop...but don't eat/drink too much as there's then a almost certainly muddy climb back up the north side of the gorge as we head back over to Burrington.
Some of the climbs/descents are quite steep, and you'll want a head for heights on this walk. There may be cattle/sheep/goats along the way too.
Bring a torch in case we tarry a while in Cheddar, or for a little look in Goatchurch Cavern or Aveline's Hole.
Bring packed lunch.
