This walk is in the past.
From Monmouth we will follow the River Wye to Symonds Yat, crossing the river along the way at Biblins Bridge (a suspended foot bridge over the Wye). The first section of the walk is fairly flat with the exception of a climb at the end to get up to Symonds Yat Viewpoint where we will hopefully (weather permitting) be greeted with fantastic views over the Wye Valley.
The second section of the walk is more challenging, with a few steep ascents and descents, as we leave the river behind and make our way back to Monmouth through the forest. As we near Monmouth, we will leave the forest for a final ascent to Kymin Round House where there is another viewpoint and hopefully more panoramic views. We will then pick up the Offa's Dyke Path for the final descent back down into Monmouth for a well-earned drink in a local pub.
Please come prepared with plenty of food and water, something to sit on when we take a break and clothing suitable for the weather conditions. Walking boots are recommended.
Please note the walk leader will not be at the meet point in Bristol.
Parking - Rockfield Road Car Park is free but can get busy. If there are not enough spaces we will need to use an alternative car park that costs £7 to park for the day
