This walk is in the past.
We start from Tafarn-y-Garreg pub, climb up the east side of the valley via a quarry and disused railway, ascend Fan Gyhirych (725m), descend west crossing the valley just south of Cray Reservoir, cross some high ground and then ascend towards Llyn Fan Fawr (lake) at 602m (lunch) then continue on past Lyn Fan Fach (lake) and ascend up to the ridge line and over Fan Brycheiniog (802m) and continue along the ridge for several miles (very good views) and descend back into the valley where the pub awaits us.
This is an evolution of a walk I led in this area last year.
Bring good hiking footwear and if it’s sunny, remember suncream/hat as it’s very exposed. Bring plenty of food and drink.
Bring packed lunch. Pub to finish.
