08:00 3 Boot Rhossili Bay & Worms Head. (Joint Walk)

Event Date: Sat 16 July 2022
Event Time: 08:00

This walk is in the past.

A challenging walk in the Gower with some amazing views of Rhossili Bay Beach, Llangennith and Worms Head.

We will start by heading towards Worms Head where we will head to the end and back - This part will involve some very uneven (and fairly risky) rocky terrain with some light scrambling though will be well worth the effort. If we're lucky, we may spot a few Seals. Please ensure you have good boots/suitable footwear for this. If you wish to skip this section, can meet in the pub/cafe before continuing.

We could maybe proceed with a stop on the beach for lunch and a paddle/swim before a hill climb up to the top of Rhossili down. From here, we will head towards Broughton Bay and back along the Wales Coastal Path on sandy terrain. Will then walk back along Rhossili Beach heading towards the pub near the start point for a post walk drink. Weather permitting, this will be a great place to catch a sunset.

Anticipate a hot day so please ensure you bring sunscreen and plenty of water (at least 2 litres).

Will also be appreciated for those who have cars if they would be willing to drive and be able to offer lifts from the early meet point. The car park here is free.

Bring packed lunch. Pub to finish.

How do I join the walk?

Unless stated on the walk page, there is no need to sign up to join a walk. You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.

On many walks you can just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk. It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts. Some walks you will need to make your way to walk start or you can post on our facebook group to ask if you can share a lift there.

If sharing lifts passengers are expected to contribute towards petrol costs. Please bring coins or be prepared to make a bank transfer. As a guide, 30p/mile shared by everyone in the car.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
