This is the guide for walk leaders. Please also read latest COVID-19 advice for walkers.
Conditions for group walking
Our walking guidance has now been relaxed with the changing restrictions in the UK.
- Booking is no longer required on walks, however you do have the option to require booking if you so wish
- There is now no maximum number of walkers, walk leaders should only accept the amount of people on their walk that they feel happy and safe leading.
- You are no longer required to take an attendee register
- Car sharing and a central meet point can also be organised if you feel comfortable doing so.
- The risk assessment form has been updated to reflect changes in restrictions.
Walk booking process
Walk leaders now have the option to run a walk without a booking system and these walks can show the exact start location.
However if you still want to run a booking system you can follow these guidelines:
- Only enter a a rough start location
- Walkers who wish to attend text the walk leader to book a space
- Once the spaces have been filled, we recommend having 2-3 waiting list spaces. (Remember: you can choose your limit.)
- Once the waiting list is also full, contact the Committee via email and we will remove your contact number from the website
- After 6pm the night before the walk, text the walkers the exact start location
