10 miles / 16 km
Taking in Cribyn and Pen y Fan from the north – be prepared for some steep climbs. Possibility of a few other peaks thrown in for good measure but hopefully distance shouldn’t be too strenuous. Walk will be co-led by our friendly mountain rescue guide Claire Key ( (Phone number removed) ) so less chance of getting lost (hopefully)! The walk will be followed by a tour of the mountain rescue base including sitting in the vehicles with flashy lights on (cos we are all super grown up really). I hope you will enjoy the opportunity to see what goes on to keep us safe on the mountains and thank them for being there should we ever need them (hopefully not). Walk will start from Cwmcynwyn farm – car parking in field at end of road (carry on past Bailea until tarmac runs out). Donation for parking £1. Please let me known in advance if you are meeting us there as there is no guarantee of mobile reception!
Bring packed lunch: yes
Post walk beverage: none
Walk leader: Jo C ( (Phone number removed) )
Car share meeting point: St Mary Redcliffe car park at 8:00 am
Alternative meeting point: Cwmcynwyn Farm map ref S (Phone number removed) at 10:00 am
As there is limited/no mobile reception in the area we are going to and the start point may not be easy to get to, additional details to get to the walk start are attached in the link below; the intention is to meet at a set location and continue the rest of the way in convoy. Please read and/or print if you intend to drive or think you may be one of the car share cars.
