12:15 2 Boot Wraxall to Clevedon via Prior’s Wood and Cadbury Camp (20s & 30s Walk)

Event Date: Sat 23 August 2025
Event Time: 12:15

This walk is in the past.

Catch the 11:50 X9 bus from Bristol bus station, arriving 12:15 at The Grove bus stop in Wraxall. I will meet you at the bus stop. Note that there is very limited parking in the vicinity of the bus stop.

We'll start by climbing the hill with views of Tyntesfield, making our way over Prior's Wood near Portbury. From there we'll walk towards Clevedon via Cadbury Camp lane (undoubtedly taking a little peek at some extravagant houses along the way...) and Cadbury Camp hill fort.

We'll reach Clevedon Fish Bar around 5:30/6, pick up some fish and chips, and make our way to the seafront to eat. For those who wish to, there is Clevedon Marine Lake where you can swim, and The Salthouse pub which has a great view of the seafront.

There are 1-2 busses per hour back from Clevedon, with the final bus back to Bristol at 21:48.

The weather may well be very hot; if so, bring sun cream and plenty of water.

Bring packed lunch. Pub to finish.

This is the route we will take: https://www.routeyou.com/en/route/view/17573958 (note that the length is an underestimate, and it's another 1km to the seafront after we reach the fish bar)

Bring packed lunch. Pub to finish.

How do I join the walk?

Unless stated on the walk page, there is no need to sign up to join a walk. You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.

On many walks you can just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk. It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts. Some walks you will need to make your way to walk start or you can post on our facebook group to ask if you can share a lift there.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
