This walk is in the past.
Starting from Wotton under Edge, we'll initially follow the Cotswold Way to the Tynedale Monument viewpoint, then cut past the north of Wotton and loop clockwise via Ozleworth and Newark Park to Tor Hill. By this time the sun will be setting and we hopefully see the sunset and great views towards the Severn Estuary and as we descend into the woods, we will likely hear Tawny owls as they are very active around dusk. The last part of the walk is in the dark, so bring torches (although its a nearly full moon, it won't rise till 5:30pm and we'll be finished before then). Its forecast to be cold, but some sunshine, light winds, so bring plenty of warm clothes etc and good footwear and sunglasses as there may be a very low sun. I've measured it by GPS, its 20km exactly and includes 600m of ascent. After the walk, we can go into Wotton under Edge and find a nice cafe for some hot drinks. I will meet you at the Clifton Water Tower where we can sort out car sharing. The local meet point at Wotton is Chipping car park 10:45am, there is free parking in Symn Lane near there, but be careful not to block the fire station!
Bring packed lunch. Cafe to finish.
