This walk is in the past.
A wander through fields and woodland passing by Hinton Charterhouse, catching a glimpse of Midford castle (from a distance!) and passing the remnants of a former canal.
I last led this walk with the group in November 2024.
There are thin bits, stiles, gates, uneven ground, a small stream to ford, the odd path that gets a bit overgrown, fields with livestock and a few hills along the way. Some sections can be a bit slippery and boggy, so waterproof boots preferable to shoes. Something to sit on to keep your bum dry when we stop for lunch would be useful too! The weather is looking cold and a bit drizzly, so please bring warm layers and waterproofs.
There's the Fox and Badger pub in Wellow if people would like a drink afterwards.
Please do let me know if you intend to meet me/us in Wellow - if no-one lets me know, and if no-one comes to the Bristol meeting point, I won't come to Wellow to lead it.
Bring packed lunch. Pub to finish.
