This walk is in the past.
We'll start with a nice, warming climb up to Maes Knoll and hopefully get a view with all 3 bridges (Clifton, M4 and M48) before we turn south heading for Chew Magna. From Chew Magna we'll follow the 2 Rivers Way, taking a look at the Stanton Drew stone circles on the way to Pensford.
There's an option to pause at The Rising Sun for a beverage in Pensford (there's no pub at the end of this walk), before heading back to Norton Malreward.
There are many fields with sheep and cows en route, some uneven ground and a couple of fairly steep ascents, one of which has loose stones. We'll need to take care on potentially slippery wooden bridges. No deep mud patches to wade through on this one...at least when I pre-walked it...but your boots/walking shoes may well need a clean afterwards (spare footwear recommended if you're getting a lift).
There's a little walking on quiet roads where we may need to squeeze into the verge a bit if any vehicles do come along.
Bring waterproofs as well as something waterproof to sit on at lunchtime to save getting a wet bum!
Bring packed lunch.
