This walk is in the past.
Circular walk departing from Bristol Suspension Bridge. We will walk through Leigh Woods, along country roads and tracks to Portbury, then through Priors Wood. There we will stop for lunch, before heading back through more Woodland and Ashton Park.
This is quite a long walk with significant ascent. The ground is quite uneven due to woodland and there are lots of stiles.
It should be a grand day out, with impressive wildlife spotted on the pre-walk (including elephants and giraffes!).
The weather may (hopefully) be warm, so please bring sun cream and appropriate clothing, especially hiking footwear. Equally it is England, so it may well be wet and cold, in which case waterproofs and sturdy boots would be useful. Please bring ample snacks and lunch, as well as a mat to sit on.
We will be meeting outside the Chapter and Holmes cafe on the Bristol side of the Suspension Bridge. There should be free parking near the Bridge on a Sunday.
Bring packed lunch. Cafe to finish.
