This walk is in the past.
After driving along a fair few single-track roads (take care if driving!) we'll set out from Triscombe Stone car park in the Quantocks on a loop wandering along tracks and single-track roads through Aisholt, Lower Aisholt and Courtway (I did try to take more footpaths on the pre-walk, but they were unfortunately pretty overgrown with brambles in places!). If desired, we'll take a short stop at the Wildflower Cafe before walking over Cothelstone Hill, taking a look at St Agnes' Well and passing Cothelstone Manor.
Rather than taking a pub stop at the end, we'll pause at the Rising Sun pub, if people would like to, before climbing up to Wills Neck, which has good panoramic views on a clear day as it's the highest point of the Quantock hills, and then returning to our start point.
Along the route there will be feral ponies, horses, wobbly styles, uneven ground/loose stones/slippery leaves, blackberries (and their brambles...), some steep sections and we need to be mindful there may be ticks in the long grass/tall bracken. We'll need to be alert to approaching vehicles when walking on the single-track roads.
The weather forecast is currently suggesting we could have some rain in the morning, so remember to bring waterproofs as well as comfy hiking boots/shoes, food and plenty of water for warm weather.
Bring packed lunch.
