Event Date: Sat 7 March 2026
Event Time: 08:00

This walk is in the past.

A walk along the Malvern Hills :)

We will explore the 17 peaks of the Malvern Hills. Starting towards the North of the Malvern Hills we will walk south and visit Perserverance Hill (325m), Jubilee Hill (327m), Pinnacle Hill (358m), Black Hill (308m), Herefordshire Beacon/British Camp (338m), Millenium Hill (327m), Hangman's Hill (276m), Swinyard Hill (271m), Midsummer Hill (284m), Raggedstone Hill (254m), and finally Chase End Hill (191m) at the Southern end of the Malvern Hills. We will then head back up north over the hills. There is an option to leave/end the walk here (at around 13 miles) as we will pass the cars on the way to heading further north on the hills, where we will go up Summer Hill (382m), the Worcestershire Beacon (425m), Sugar Loaf Hill (368m), Table Hill, North Hill and finally End Hill before returning back south over the hills to the car park.

Please expect hills! :) Estimated ascent 1550m and total duration approx 17 miles.

Scenic views of Worcestershire, the Cotswolds, Herefordshire and beyond to the Black Mountains in Wales. Lots of short hills so a great opportunity for some hill training! 😊

Please contact me if you are planning to join or if you are coming directly to the alternative meeting point 😊 There are public toilets at the meeting point in the Malverns and more public toilets on route too!

Please bring suitable footwear, warm clothing, waterproofs, sunhats, sunglasses and plenty of food and drink for the day. We will cross a few roads on the walk, take care when crossing roads, and maintain single file for the short sections along a road. There are sometimes livestock grazing on small parts of the Malvern Hills which we will navigate together calmly, or divert if necessary. Please check yourself for ticks after the walk. The paths are generally very well surfaced though some sections may be slippery especially stepper sections in particularly dry/wet weather. Not expecting to be out after dark, but please bring a headtorch/torch if you have one, just in case.

Bring packed lunch. Pub to finish.

How do I join the walk?

Unless stated on the walk page, there is no need to sign up to join a walk. You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.

On many walks you can just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk. It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts. Some walks you will need to make your way to walk start or you can post on our facebook group to ask if you can share a lift there.

If sharing lifts passengers are expected to contribute towards petrol costs. Please bring coins or be prepared to make a bank transfer. As a guide, 30p/mile shared by everyone in the car.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
