8pm 20s and 30s Pub Night: The Llandoger Trow

Event Date: Fri 27 July 2018
Event Time: 8pm

Join us at the Llandoger Trow pub on King Street.  Dating from 1664, meetings in this historic pub are said to have inspired the classics Treasure Island and Robinson Crusoe.  Hopefully the weather will be nice enough to sit outside.

If you are fairly new to Brunel walking group or even just contemplating going on a walk, you are welcome to join us – this is a good opportunity to ask questions and meet members of the group.  Look out for a sign or a pink/orange OS map on the table as a clue to where we are!

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with over 400 members and is part of The Ramblers charity. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
