Weekend Away – Dolgellau Trip (joint)

Event Date: Fri 26 May 2017

This trip is only available to Brunel 20s & 30s and Brunel Plus Members.

This year’s camping weekend away over the Spring Bank Holiday is just outside Dolgellau. The town of Dolgellau is located in mid Wales in Snowdonia National Park. It is surrounded by a beautiful mountainous landscape and the campsite, which is on a hill, has a commanding view of Cadair Idris on the other side of the valley.

We have built up a good relationship with this campsite, having stayed there before a few years ago which we would like to maintain. The campsite is quite small and is expected to be busy over that weekend so if people have small tents that would be very useful, however it is not compulsory. The toilets are free but there is a charge of 50p for the showers.

The tariff is £10 per person per night. The weekend runs from Friday 26th May to Monday 29th May, and there will be a communal BBQ on the Saturday or Sunday night, depending on the weather.

Please fill out the form and pay £10 as deposit for the campsite, you will then receive an email confirmation advising that you have a place on the trip. The remaining balance for the campsite will need to be paid to Brunel, before the 1st April 2017. If you cancel after booking, a refund will only be offered if someone else can be found to take your place. If you have any questions please contact us at brunelwalkinggroup@hotmail.com

You will also need your Ramblers membership number, to complete the form.

Your place will only be confirmed once we have received your payment, so make sure you send it, details in the booking form.

If you wish to come along, please move as quickly as possible, as there are only 20 spaces on the trip!

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
