9.20am 1 Boot: The Frome Valley part 2: Frampton Cotterell to Chipping Sodbury (Joint Walk)

Event Date: Sun 25 June 2017
Event Time: 9.20am

8 miles

For those that joined us on the first walk, this is a continuation of the Frome Valley walk which ended in Frampton Cotterell. Bring a packed lunch. Car sharers meet at 9:20 at St Marys church Redcliffe, the walk leaders won’t be there at the start so you will have to self-organise. The best route to Frampton Cotterell is to get on the M32 to the ring road, then go through Winterbourne, it will be best to park on a side road, then meet us by 10am when we will set off from the church. This is a walk from A to B so we will share taxis back to the start where cars are parked in Frampton Cotterell. For bus lovers there are extra bus options you can take the 46 from Bristol bus station leaving at 9:07 which will get you to Frampton on time, although on the way back you would have a slightly extended walk (+3 miles) backtracking to Yate Shopping centre to get the 46 back again.

Walk Leader: Sean F (07804005216)  co leader Jack B (07765011001)

Bring packed lunch, pub to finish.

Meet: 9.20am at St. Mary Redcliffe

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
