New Year’s Eve Party at The Colston Hall

Event Date: Sun 31 December 2017
Event Time: 7:30 pm

Lace up your dancing shoes and get ready for the New Year’s Eve shindig to top them all!

Headed by the inimitable BBC Radio 6 Music host and veteran DJ Craig Charles, NYE at Colston Hall will be an unforgettable funk, soul and retro grooves takeover. Strut your stuff ‘til dawn with Craig’s Funk & Soul Club and his world-famous Trunk of Funk, or skank the night away with the Reggae Train in the Old Ticket Office.

Over in the foyer, Soultrain DJs will be spinning the hottest soul, funk and disco classics for your dancing pleasure to celebrate their 25th anniversary in style. Experience the downright funky acid jazz of the James Taylor Quartet. With loads more acts and DJs to be confirmed, this will be the biggest, funkiest NYE party in the city.

A number of Brunellers have already booked onto this and tickets are going fast. Dress code eveningwear / smart casual.

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
