National Young Ramblers weekend – Edinburgh

Follow on from the very successful event organised by Tiger Bay Ramblers in Cardiff in 2016……..

The event in Edinburgh will take place from 5th – 7th May 2017. It will be a great opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Edinburgh, and meet other younger members from all over the country.

The event will include:

– 2 nights accommodation in the city centre SYHA (inc. breakfast)

– A range of long & short walks on the Saturday – from sandy beaches of East Lothian to the mountains of the Southern Highlands

– A Saturday night social and ceilidh

– A walk & talk volunteer development session

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
