Dorset Coast mini weekend away (Joint)

Event Date: Fri 8 June 2018 to Sun 10 June 2018

Join us on a mini weekend away camping in the grounds of a cider farm on the Dorset coast.

The plan is to travel down on the evening of Friday 9th June.  On the Saturday, there will be a 12 mile circular walk taking in the coast, Golden Cap, Stonebarrow Hill and other viewpoints.  On the Sunday, after packing up the tents, there will be an 8 mile walk round the Isle of Portland.  The cost is £28 per person.  The campsite is dog friendly.  Car sharing will be arranged once the list of attendees is finalised.

Strictly for members of Brunel Walking Group only.  A link to the booking form was in the May newsletter.

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
