This is an undulating walk starting from just below Chepstow Castle. We leave the cars heading north along Offa’s Dyke until we reach Brockweir. Here we cross over the Wye and turn south, passing by Tintern and its Abbey before continuing along the Wye Valley way to Chepstow.
Likely to be muddy and hence slippery in places. There is also one large step down to be negotiated.

Bring a packed lunch. Pub to finish.

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
