9:05am 1 Boot: Cardiff Bay by train (Joint Walk)

We will catch the train to Cardiff, before walking down to Cardiff Bay and doing a circuit of the Cardiff Bay barrage.

During this walk we will pass the Millennium centre and the Welsh assembly building and there will also be a detour along a pebble beach to Penarth, where there will be an option of supplementing your sandwiches with some seaside chips or an ice cream.

We will catch the 9:21 train arriving in Cardiff Central at 10:18.
Discounted tickets are available for groups of 3 or more people, so meet outside Templemeads from 9:05 if you want to take advantage of this option.

Bring a packed lunch. Pub to finish.

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
