9:00 a.m. Mini Walking Festival and BBQ (Joint Event)

Event Date: Sat 17 June 2017
Event Time: 09:00

Yes, it’s back – the annual event that is officially known as the Brunel Mini Walking Festival or more affectionately, the BBQ walks!! Regardless of whether you mainly walk with Brunel Plus or the 20/30s group, usually go on 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot walks, or if you are one of the members who we only see at the pub night, the Mini Walking Festival brings us all together to enjoy a day of walking followed by a barbecue. This year we will be sampling the delights of the Marlborough Downs near Avebury where you can choose to do a 1, 2 or 3 boot walk and the day will end with a barbecue. It will cost £6 per person and is a members only event. Please see the May newsletter for how to book.

Meet 9am at The Water Tower, Clifton

Alternative Meet Point: Please contact Barbara or Kirstie for details.

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
