8:45 3 Boot: Somerset’s ‘Three Peaks’ Walk (20s & 30s)

We’ll follow the Three Peaks Walk in its entirety, looping around the Chew Valley to climb Maes Knoll, Blackberry “Hill” and Knowle Hill.

There will be no mountains and nothing greater than 200m above sea level. With a total ascent of around 650m, this walk is mostly about being able to complete the distance.

Some of the paths may be overgrown: trousers are advisable. Please bring plenty of water, sun cream, jacket.

Bring a packed lunch. Pub to finish.

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
