Join me for part or
all of the epic Wiltshire White Horse Trail walking challenge!
The White Horse Trail Wiltshire is a 90 mile walk taking in all eight
existing white horses cut into the county’s chalk hillsides.
I have split the walk into 7 circular routes (15-20miles each). This
is a great opportunity for both 3-booters and strong 2-booters to test
out their long distance stride without climbing any mountains. The
routes are all on established paths with no more than 500m of ascent
per walk. If anyone completes all 7 walks with me I will try to source
us some sort of commemorative souvenir to mark the achievement!
Starting from the Pewsey Downs car park we will follow the Tan Hill
Way to join up with the White Horse Trail halfway between Marlborough
and Pewsey. Now following the official trail we pass through Pewsey to
reach its new White Horse (1937). The trail then returns north where
shortly before reaching the car park we will visit the Alton Barnes
White Horse (1812).
Approximately 450m ascent.
