7pm Evening Walk: Lake and Chips (Joint Walk)

Chew Magna and Chew Valley Lake (where we can get chips from Salt and Malt)

This walk begins through a lovely church yard and on through undulating fields, up a steep but small hill and onto Knowle Hill.  We then head down to walk along the northern shore line of Chew Magna Lake (chip supper stop – chips optional), and on to follow the banks of the River Chew back to Chew Magna.

Meet: 7pm in the public car park behind The Pelican Pub, Chew Magna.

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
