7:50 2 Boot: Teignmouth to Torquay Coast Path plus Pizza! (Brunel Plus)

Event Date: Sun 3 December 2017
Event Time: 7:50

13 miles

We will meet at Teignmouth Station and walk to the ferry via public toilets, before catching the first ferry to Shaldon at 10am (cost £1.50). We then have a quick coffee and cake, if desired, at the Ness Hotel and then walk to Torquay Harbour before having a meal at Pizza Express. It is then about a mile to Torquay Station where we catch the train back to the cars.

The coast path section is moderately hilly and surprisingly attractive. We will finish in the dark so we should see the festive lights around Torquay Harbour. Please bring torches.

This walk has 1300m of ascent.

Bring a packed lunch. Pub to finish.

Walk Leader: Gina R (01934 834899)

Meet: 7:50 at Aldi/Pizza Hut (Bradley Stoke)

Alternatively meet at 09:30 at Teignmouth Railway Station Car Park (charges apply)

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
