6.45pm Evening Walk: Discover East Bristol (Brunel Plus)

An urban evening walk of 5-6 miles. Explore a series of green spaces, follow the River Avon Trail along the Feeder and up a short but steep hill to see a great view over south Bristol at Troopers Hill. See the link below for a taster.
Lots of buses along Church Road from town including 42, 43, 44 and 45. Get off at the ALDI on Church Road. Car park on Chalks Road, says free after 6pm but double check the signs for charges on arrival. No parking permit system in BS5.

I will bring my small dog Toby. Other dogs welcome if well behaved on leads.

Option to go for drink at The Dark Horse, Church Road St George – dog friendly.

Meet: 6.45pm at the entrance to St George Park, corner of Church Road and Chalks Road. Near WC’s. Nearest postcode is BS5 8AD.

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
