2pm 1 Boot: Peaceful Portway – Circular Nature and History Trail, Through a Traffic Free Portway (Joint Walk)

Event Date: Sun 17 September 2017
Event Time: 2.00 pm

Approx six miles

Normally, the Portway is full of traffic, so it’s difficult to appreciate the natural beauty, but today traffic is banned. During short stops, we’ll hear performers and story-tellers, reveal the secrets of the gorge and tell tales of boats, goats, peregrines and tides. We may also stop to listen to a choir in the covered section of the road, under the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Some uneven tracks leading to and from the Portway, so walking boots advisable.

Bring a snack or sandwiches to eat during a break in the walk. Pub to finish.

Walk Leader: Jeff R (07985 024650)

Meet: 2.00 pm at the Water Tower, Clifton Downs

There will be some road closures in the city centre/harbour areas, so please allow plenty of time to get to the Water Tower by 2.00 pm.
