9:45am 2 Boot: The Severn Vale (Joint Walk)

Event Date: Sun 20 August 2017

10.5 miles

This is a very easy 2 boot. Suitable for 1 booters looking for a slightly longer distance without too many hills or any 2 booters wanting a not too strenuous local walk.

We start at Tockington then follow the fields north to Littleton upon Severn before looping back towards Thornbury and Old Down in a figure of 8. Lots of views of the Severn estuary, a couple of small hills (but nothing too much). Can be extended if required / wanted… You don’t have to go far for a good walk!

Bring packed lunch, pub to finish.

Walk leader: Paul S (07887718475)

Car share meeting point: Meet at the water tower at 9.45am
Alternative meeting point: On the green in the centre of Tockington at 10.15am. Please contact the walk leader if going directly to the alternative meeting point.

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
