10.00am, 2 Boot: Chew Valley Ramble (Brunel Plus)

Event Date: Sun 25 June 2017
Event Time: 10.00am

12 miles

A delightful relatively flat walk along the Chew Valley from Keynsham to just past Pensford, just right for a hot mid-summer’s day.

The plan will be to ‘almost’ finish the walk at ‘The Bonzo Lounge’ – Keynsham for refreshments, before walking a final mile back along the river to collect our cars.

The pre-walk was completed in shorts but I received plenty of nettle rash – beware.

Meet the walk leader at the start at 10:00 for a prompt get away at 10:15. NGR: ST65959 66781 or BS31 1JN. Plenty of parking in Courtenay Road, Keynsham. Please be considerate of residents.

Bring packed lunch, pub to finish.

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
