12 noon onwards: Bird in the Hand Beer & Cider Festival (Brunel Plus Social)

Event Date: Sat 14 July 2018
Event Time: From 12 noon onwards

Beer and cider festival at the Bird in Hand pub in Saltford.
Public event –  join us as part of Brunel Plus social.

Live bands – Hog Roast barbecue – various drinks available. I will be cycling to the pub to be there for 12 noon and I suggest that others do this too as pub garden backs onto the Bristol and Bath cycle path. Otherwise, get the X39 bus from Redcliffe Way to Tyning Road, Saltford followed by an 8 minute walk to the pub. For satnav purposes, use BS31 3EJ. Any queries before the day of the event, please ring 01179616734 and leave a message with your name & contact number so I can call you back.

About Brunel Walking Group

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

Brunel is a thriving group with more than 400 members. All of our walk leaders and committee members are volunteers, dedicated to sharing our fantastic countryside with others.  Read more on our FAQs page

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.

Walks are graded as either 1 boot, 2 boot or 3 boot.  Read more about choosing the right walk for your fitness level here,
