9.30 am, 1+ Boot: Severn Bridge Walk (Joint)

Event Date: Sun 18 June 2017
Event Time: 10am

9 – 10 miles

Continue the walking festival weekend with this classic novelty walk.

We will walk over the old Severn Bridge and down into Chepstow, before returning the way we came. The old Severn Bridge was built in 1966 and has grade I listed status. It requires about 2 miles of walking to get from one end to the other, during which time we will have views up and down the channel and of the village of Beachley below us. We will stop in the shadow of Chepstow castle for lunch. There may be a possibility of getting a pub lunch in Chepstow, although I would advise bringing sandwiches in case the pubs are too busy.

Meet: St Mary Redcliffe at 09:30. The walk leader will meet you in Aust – please self-organise car shares and send a text before departing to let him know how many people are coming, so that he doesn’t leave without you! Please note that we cannot guarantee that there will be enough cars, but it is very rarely a problem.

Alternatively, meet in Aust (outside the Church at the Western end) at 10:00 – Map here

Postcode: BS35 4AZ

Bring packed lunch, pub to finish.
