New members Walk, all welcome, just turn up. An easy-paced, mainly flat walk, with only two short climbs. We will cross the M5 via the Pegwell footbridge to Almondsbury, accessing the network of quiet lanes and field paths on the Severn Plain, visiting Easter Compton and Spaniorum Hill for views of the plain. Garden centre tea-shop just before the end of the walk. Suitable for potential new members. Probably muddy.

Bring a packed lunch. After the walk we’ll go to a tea shop.

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
