An easy-paced Easter Sunday countryside walk from the charming Cotswold village of Hawkesbury Upton through picturesque coombes and along quiet lanes, including Small Coombe with its bubbling brook, the stream-side village of Lower Kilcott and Hawkesbury Church and Common.  Returning via Birch Hill and the Cotswold Way along Bath Lane.  A couple of climbs and superb scenery.  Suitable for most potential new members.  Optional (unless you are car-sharing!) Town Hall teas in Wotton-under-Edge, a ten minute drive, after the walk.

Bring a packed lunch. After the walk we’ll go to a tea shop.

Thanks for visiting us! Brunel Walking Group is for young(ish) people in the Bristol and Bath area who love the countryside and like to get outside on a weekend.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
