10.15 1+ Boot: Saltford, North Stoke, and Kelston Round Hill (Brunel Plus)

There’s a long climb up from Kelston to North Stoke, then one other much shorter climb, as we continue towards our lunch stop at Kelston Round Hill. We pass through beautiful sheep farming country, with panoramic views of the Avon Valley, and far beyond, (weather permitting!). After lunch, we head down to Newbridge, for level walking alongside an unspoilt rural section of the River Avon.

Bring a packed lunch. Pub to finish.

What is Brunel Walking Group?

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
