An easy-going walk to clear away the cobwebs while wandering along the beach and around Sand Point with superb views on a clear day. Possible extension to Worlebury Hill and Weston Woods which would be another approx 8km or 5 miles. We can make more of it by spending time en-route to enjoy the scenery, picnic, etc.

Bring a packed lunch. After the walk there may be a possibilty of a cafe stop

Meet: 09:30 at St Mary Redcliffe car park

Alternatively meet at 10:30 at Sand Bay car park/middle car park. Bs22 9uh. Or map ref 333646 on Os land ranger 182 map. This is the middle car park along Sand Bay, off Sand Road, not the Kewstoke on or the National Trust ones which are at each end of the bay. Free parking but 20p for toilets.

How do I join the walk?

There is no need to sign up to join a walk, just turn up at the meeting point where we will share lifts to the start of the walk.  You’re very welcome to try out 1 or 2 walks before you join, but we do insist that after that you join the Brunel Walking Group.  It’s OK if you don’t drive – we normally have enough drivers who are able to give lifts, but drivers often appreciate it when a voluntary contribution is made by passengers towards their costs.

How do I know what to bring? And am I fit enough?

We provide a full recommended kit list here.  Please do bring water, a rainproof jacket, walking trousers (or similar) and walking shoes/boots – avoid jeans and trainers.
